Rifle Paper Calendar

I’m a huge fan of city art. In my room, I’ve got posters representing London, D.C., Paris, Louisville, and Chapel Hill. I’ve even got a poster from 20×200 of vintage luggage tags. So it should come to the surprise of no one that I’d figure out a way to frame my 2013 calendar by Florida’s Rifle Paper Co. that featured 12 beautiful illustrations of international cities.

Thankfully, a quick Google search revealed that someone before me had figured it all out: Young House Love found the perfect size frame (IKEA has everything, y’all) and Read Make Do had great instructions. My friend (Happy Penguin Press) let me borrow a magnetic paper cutter (Where was this magical magnetic type way back when while I was working on middle school science project boards?), and it couldn’t have been easier. I left as much of each page intact as I could and just trimmed about a half an inch off the bottom.

I’m psyched to add some more of my favorite cities to my collection and can’t wait until I actually have the wall space to hang them. (And despite considering myself quite the jetsetter, I’d actually only been to four of the twelve cites: Rome, London, New York, and Paris. See ya soon, Sydney, Amsterdam, and Rio?)
